The Sioux Falls Skyforce Game Operations department is hiring an In-Arena Emcee!
This role would be responsible for hosting promotions on the court, interacting with fans, and executing game operations tasks. The on-court emcee works closely with game operations and is required to memorize lines, talk in front of crowds, and organize small groups of people. Seeking an individual who can bring energy and maintain composure under bright lights.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list:
- Serve as the live on-court host and emcee during home games, entertaining fans and maintaining energy throughout the arena experience
- Deliver scripted and impromptu announcements, crowd prompts, and interactive segments during pregame, in-game timeouts, and halftime activities
- Engage fans of all ages through on-court contests, giveaways, and promotional activations in coordination with the game entertainment and marketing teams
- Collaborate with the game operations and entertainment production staff to ensure seamless timing and execution of all on-court segments
- Maintain a professional, energetic, and brand-appropriate presence that aligns with the organization’s image and fan experience standards
- Adapt performance style and content in real time based on game flow, crowd energy, and direction from production staff
- Participate in rehearsals, production meetings, and run-of-show walkthroughs to prepare for each event
- Represent the organization at select community events, promotional appearances, and non-game day entertainment functions as assigned

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of professional basketball game-day operations, in-arena entertainment programming, and live event production workflows. Knowledge of NBA rules, game flow, player rosters, and basketball terminology sufficient to provide accurate and timely commentary during live play. Knowledge of entertainment industry trends, audience engagement strategies, and best practices for live hosting within professional sports venues.
