Livingstone Athletics Seeking Public Address Announcer for Football

Livingstone Athletics is holding open auditions to be the football public address announcer.

Applicants will have the potential to serve as the PA announcer for football games at Alumni Memorial Stadium.

The role includes:
• Introducing starting lineups.
• Calling pertinent in-game action.
• Making other in-venue announcements.

Top applicants may be selected for in-person auditions, including reading a sample game script over an in-venue PA system and meeting with Livingstone Athletics staff members.

Qualifications and responsibilities
• Strong vocal ability, pronunciation, enthusiasm, and comfort in addressing large crowds, identifying with the student culture as well as the older grassroot Blue Bear fans.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
• In-depth knowledge of rules for football and ability to understand in-game action
• Ability to follow a script, react quickly, and readily accept feedback
• Experience working as a PA announcer at the high school, collegiate, or professional level is preferred
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
• Ability to commute to Alumni Memorial Stadium

Additional details
PA announcers are compensated based on the number of games they work and are subject to a background check. PA announcers are renewed on an annual basis by Livingstone Athletics.
