The Charlotte Hornets are accepting applicants for the Public Address Announcer position ahead of the 2024-25 season. Last month, the team announced the tragic passing of their long-time PA Announcer, Pat Doughty, who dedicated his career to maximizing fans’ game experience over the past 20 years. The organization seeks a dedicated and passionate voice who will bring their own personality and enthusiasm for Charlotte basketball in a way that represents the Hornets, the city of Charlotte and its NBA fans, while understanding the importance and impact that Big Pat had on the position and Hornets fans.

“Although we are still grieving the loss of the beloved Pat Doughty, we are looking for someone who will continue his legacy – with the same passion and energy that he brought to the arena each and every night,” said Hornets President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston. “Big Pat will always be a part of the Charlotte Hornets organization, and we hope to honor his vibrant spirit in whomever we choose as PA Announcer to carry the torch forward.”

All interested candidates are required to apply via the application below, which includes submitting a professional Public Address resume, a professional website or reel (no social media accounts or pages), and self-tape of the reads provided.
