About us

The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club is a summer collegiate wood bat baseball club in the Los Angeles region. We are a 501(c)3 educational charitable non-profit organization. Our goal is to assist graduating high school seniors and current collegiate baseball players to advance and further their education through athletics, baseball specifically. The VC Pirates strives to not only improve college baseball players’ abilities on the baseball diamond but to also develop leaders off the field through our baseball job opportunities and internships. Spending the summer with the VC Pirates working in one of our sports related positions or internships can help those interested in advancing in the sports industry.

The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club, a collegiate wood bat summer baseball team playing games at Los Angeles Valley College, in Los Angeles, California, seeks interns with confidence in addressing large crowds, strong vocal skills, and an ability to entertain and inform fans at home games.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Director of Baseball Operations
• Make player introductions pre-game, pitching changes and batters announcements
• Comfortable announcing to crowds of people on a microphone
• Comfortable announcing phonetically difficult names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
• Attend all home games

• Strong vocal talent
• Unique and definitive personality
• Strong knowledge of baseball including rules and positions

COMPENSATION

• Stipend – $300.00

• College students can earn college credit. Accepted interns need to pre-arrange with their respective academic departments at their college/university to ensure a specific internship opportunity meets academic credit requirements.

Job Types: Temporary, Internship

Pay: $150.00 per month

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Valley Glen, CA 91401: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
