LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway is predominantly a racing facility located Western Wisconsin. It hosts over 30 events a year including Oktoberfest Race Weekend and Thursday Night Street Drags. LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway hosts some of the nation’s top short track touring series as well as seven local racing divisions. However, we are also about people. Job Description:
LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway is seeking candidates for the position of Public Address Announcer. This role serves to inform everyone in attendance at a Racing Event of any and all pertinent information that occurs during the event. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Announce live race action as it occurs
- Perform pre and post race reads as needed
- Perform commercial reads as needed
- Assist LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway staff in any other race day needs as they arise
- May be asked to play music during the event
Entry into the candidate pool requires the following qualifications:
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the rules and regulations of the racing series that frequent LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
- This position also requires a knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific race day protocols as it pertains to LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
- During events, the public address announcer may have to interact with and work alongside the following: LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway Staff, LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway Officials, Media Personnel, etc.
- Must be able to observe and react to events on the race track in order to accurately announce information.
- Must have an excellent speaking voice and ability to project and annunciate, and the ability to read announcements in a timely fashion.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Travel/Work Hours
No travel.
Required ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends & holidays during racing events. Some weekday events may be required
