Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. WE LOVE OUR WORK.
- Provides name of horse, rider, lengths behind and any other descriptors for benefit of general public and simulcast audience of MVRC Races.
- Provides general announcements to public.
- Conveys pertinent information such as scratches, changes and any other updates of racing information as directed by Mutuel department or judges.
- Provides explanations of infractions occurring on racetrack and resultant disqualifications.
- Provides per-race commentary on horses and participants in races.
- Coordinate with audio-visual department in developing content for daily simulcast presentation.
- Acts a host for racing related media or promotional events before, during or after races.
- Must be available to work for any racing hours.

- Must have thorough knowledge of Thoroughbred horses.
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
- Physical Demands: Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. Team Members must be drug free.
