Play by Play Broadcaster Announcer

We are seeking 2-3 dynamic and engaging Play-by-Play Announcers to bring live sports and event coverage to audiences across Southern Minnesota. The current communities we need more staff for are: Faribault, Mankato and Albert Lea.

This role requires a passionate communicator with strong storytelling skills, some technical proficiency in video and audio set-up, and the ability to interpret game action seamlessly. The ideal candidate will have experience in hockey play-by-play, streaming activities, and video production, with a keen eye for detail and a vibrant voice that captivates viewers and listeners alike. Responsibilities

• Provide real-time commentary during live sporting events or performances, maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism throughout.
• Commit to about 100 games/year
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth broadcast flow, including coordinating with camera operators and technical staff.
• Edit recorded footage for highlights, promotional content, or post-event summaries using Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite tools.
• Manage social media channels by posting engaging content, updates, related to events.
• Write gameday scripts and create social media posts.
• Interpret game action accurately and deliver clear, compelling narration that enhances viewer experience.
• Assist in post-production activities such as editing audio/video clips for promotional use or archival purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video production, or journalism with a portfolio demonstrating previous work.
• Strong communication skills with an engaging voice suitable for live broadcasting.
• Excellent writing skills for scripting and content creation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Canva and other relevant editing tools.
• Experience in social media management and content posting strategies.
• Ability to interpret live action quickly and accurately while maintaining composure under pressure.

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 14.0 per week
