The Color Analyst will provide commentary for Rochester Americans broadcasts. Talent will appear in the pregame show, intermissions and Postgame Show as requested. This role will work with the Producer on content conception and storylines for game coverage, work in concert with the Play-by-Play Announcer and other talent providing expert analysis and background information such as statistics and strategy.

This position will appear on other programming as requested and interact with other hosts, guests during the show. Participate in additional content created by the Creative Team. Make appearances at various events representing the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Color commentator enhances the broadcast by providing facts and insight drawn from experience and previous games
  • Research opposing team and roster
  • Knowledge of AHL, Players, the rules of the league
  • Assist with the development of show content and dialogue
  • Conduct on-air interviews; both in-person and remotely
  • Stay current with Rochester Amerks and AHL season, watching and attending games and practices as applicable
  • Work with various departments to produce creative content
  • Participate in off-site events
  • Adheres to all guidelines, policies, and procedures of the station and company
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of Network on-air experience
  • Preferred AHL or NHL playing experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
